Free Stations of the Cross Booklet

Download printable Stations of the Cross booklets with meditations by World War I chaplain Fr. William “Willie” Doyle.

In my experience, most Stations of the Cross meditations available today fall into one of two categories: they are composed of outdated English (e.g., “Thou hast hanged Me on the gibbet of the cross”) or they are overly sentimental and lacking depth. Fr. Doyle’s meditations, however, avoid both of these shortcomings. Though he wrote over a century ago—he died in 1917—his style remains accessible and engaging, without sacrificing the depth, insight, and prayerfulness. The meditations in this booklet have received ecclesiastical approval (imprimatur) and are in the public domain.
