Free Stations of the Cross Booklet

Download printable Stations of the Cross booklets with meditations by World War I chaplain Fr. William “Willie” Doyle. The meditations have received ecclesiastical approval (imprimatur). All contents of this booklet are in the public domain.

In my experience, most stations of the cross meditations available these days fall into one of two categories. Either they are a bit old-fashioned (e.g. “thou hast hanged Me on the gibbet of the cross”), or they are a bit shallow and sentimental. The stations of the cross meditations written by Fr. Doyle, however, avoid both of these less-than-ideal qualities. Fr. Doyle, who died in 1917, wrote in a familiar and readable style, yet his meditations are no less rich, insightful, and conducive to prayer for it.
