For centuries, the Latin Vesting Prayers were prayed by every Roman Catholic priest as he vested for Mass. While these prayers are no longer obligatory, the Vatican’s Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff recommends their use to help the priest’s preparation and recollection before the celebration of the Mass.
The following PDF provides the Latin prayers with an interlinear English translation of each word to aid with comprehension. The interlinear format is very literal and does not account for word order which is different in Latin than English. Those who have not had any training in Latin are likely to find an ordinary English translation of the prayers more useful.
